I'm coming from android and the typing was amazing. The fact that I have to tap the globe icon 4 different times to get emojis is dumb. Glide type ant then delete it and immediately try to glide type the word ant again. Now you have to type the word letter by letter. it thinks you meant a completely different word.

There's a ton of stuff I like about the iPhone but the keyboard is such a fundamental part of how I interact with the device that the whole phone is borderline unusable for me. For me personally, the biggest offender is the missing "swipe from delete key" to quickly select and erase multiple words. If you've never used the additional features on android you obviously won't miss them - but if you're used to them, trying to type without them is a nightmare. Meanwhile, on android you have a dedicated number row and special characters like ² ³ ½ ¼ ± etc. The features you mentioned are the minimum for what I'd consider remotely usable.
